Exploring the relationship between EGRIS score and the need for mechanical ventilation in Guillain Barre syndrome

Background and Objective:
 Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an immune system-mediated polyradiculoneuropathy that accounts for approximately 100,000 new patients per year globally. GBS has also been linked to respiratory failure in 20% 40% of cases. The objective this study was find association between Erasmus insufficiency score (EGRIS) the need mechanical ventilation.
 Methods:
 We conducted our cross-sectional at department Neurology, Pakistan Institute Medical Sciences from November 2019 February 2020. Sixty were selected study. Data including demographic profile, variant GBS, EGRIS calculated all participants. entered analyzed using SPSS version 25.
 Results:
 All 60 enrolled underwent continuous monitoring during admission time. Out patients, three (5%) endured ventilation with a mean 4.5. Others who didn't had 1.5. requiring one each Acute Inflammatory Demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy, Motor Axonal Neuropathy, Sensory Neuropathy variants GBS. p-value non-significant presented data.
 Conclusion:
 could not meet statistical significance identifying requirement This may be due low sample size.
